Bathroom Colour Trends for Autumn

As the summer draws to a close, we wave goodbye to the tropical hues and light cotton fibres. Now is the time to start welcoming the return of cosy nights in. Get the candles lit and treat yourself to a calming bubble bath because it’s time to enjoy the cooler months.

If you feel your bathroom could do with a new lease of life or perhaps a pop of colour, we have you covered. Here are some of our favourite bathroom colour trends this autumn and how to inject them into your home.

Deep blues

Deep blues are having a bit of a moment this autumn and we’re seeing the return of navy to our bathrooms. Whether you want to delve in completely or just accent the room with a rich navy, these bathroom ideas will ensure you are bang on trend.

Coastal Chic

Despite the nights drawing in, there’s no reason why you can’t hold onto a bit of summer. Feel the sand between your toes and the wind through your hair as you decorate your bathroom with stunning deep blue and white tones.

Create a feature and coat a wall with navy bathroom paint. Alternatively, you could include white stripes in your design to produce a nautical look. To finish off the room, accessorise by adding distressed wood and maritime decorations. Adding photo frames to your space is one of the big bathroom trends of 2021. Why not display pictures of holidays gone by to really embrace the coastal feel?

Chinese Blue

Give your bathroom an oriental feel with blue and white pottery-inspired tiles. Place them on your floor and complement them with the use of navy bathroom paint. Alternatively, place the tiles in a mosaic on your wall and brighten up your space. Accessorise with wicker baskets and potted plants to complete the look.

Crystal Autumn Palette

Why stick to one shade of blue when you could have many? Here at Crown Paints, we are obsessed with the tonal blue bathroom trend and we think it’s perfect for the upcoming autumn months.

Choose an accent paint like midnight navy and build up your tonal blues around it. If you want to brighten your room, be sure to add lighter paints to really make your bathroom pop.

Green Layers

Layers are a popular interior trend this autumn and using them in your bathroom is a great idea. Embrace the autumnal green tones and layer them to create a chic look.

When exploring green bathroom ideas, consider basing your scheme around a dark green bathroom paint and contrast it with brighter shades for a contemporary look. Alternatively, you could take inspiration from one of the big interior summer trends and add a hint of pastel into your room.

Dashes of graphite and black will add an air of sophistication to your space. You can easily achieve this by changing your handles and fixture.

Add texture and life to your bathroom with indoor plants. Take this one step further by using green paint inspired by nature, bringing everything together.

Blingy Beige

Say goodbye to grey tones and bring a bit of beige into your bathroom! One of the big bathroom trends of 2021 is a blingy beige interior.

Inspired by five-star spas, warm neutral colours are the perfect way to make your bathroom feel luxurious. Start by using neutral paint for your walls. Consider how much light there is in your space when deciding which colour to choose. For example, if your room is flooded with light, a slightly deeper neutral tone would work nicely.

Tie the scheme together with items and fittings boasting curved lines and sleek finishes. A delicate chandelier will ensure your room looks as rich and inviting as possible.
